I came across FOO’D /fú-dō/ by Chef Davide Oldani through Citibank’s dining promo where we can avail a 4-course degustation menu for a discounted price. It piqued my interest because I read somewhere that this restaurant’s “pop cuisine” concept is using simple yet high-grade ingredients and transforming it to a delectable dish. If you’re planning to visit this restaurant, you can browse their menu first to see if anything fits your palate.
Here’s our honest review of our dining experience:

LOCATION AND AMBIENCE
FOO’D is accessible and very easy to locate. It’s located at the Ground Level of Shangri-La at the Fort.
The facade of the establishment was decorated with a big, dimly-lighted FOO’D signage. You can park your car in nearby parking slots. We made a reservation the day before so we were accommodated immediately. The interior was elegant and organized but the lighting was a little dark for me. The place seemed exclusive even on peak hours. The table arrangements and decors were just right.
SERVICE
The waiters were friendly and accommodating. We were given the menu and a glass of water immediately after seating. He was also quick on giving recommendations and answered our questions about their menu. He was attentive to our needs and quickly addressed our concerns throughout the night. I was impressed too because the chef explains the food upon serving. He also asked if we need some customizations on the food (like if we need more salt or pepper etc.).
FOOD
We ordered the 4 Course Tasting Menu worth P1,900.00. It included 1 Antipasto (Appetizer), 1 Primo, 1 Secondo and 1 Dolce (Dessert).

We loved their menu! The Cipolla Caramellata was sweet yet tasty. The onion was very soft while the pastry was crispy so it complemented each other. My husband loved the Olive Oil Poached Salmon — very mouth-watering! The Duck Breast and Wagyu Beef were easy to chew on. It literally melts in your mouth and were very tasty! It was my first time to try the trout caviar so it was an experience for me. The Dark Chocolate Mousse was a classic. I enjoyed the richness of cocoa and chocolate with dried raspberries.
OVER-ALL EXPERIENCE
We’re absolutely happy with the food and service. Their food is pricey but super value for money. If you’re looking for a fine-dining restaurant, I would recommend this place. We’re planning to eat here again if time permits. ^_^
